Welcome to West Hill Educare!
Established in 2007, West Hill Educare re-opened in November 2022 with the support of a NYS Child Care Desert Grant.West Hill Educare is a home-based child care program, located a mile up the hill from the inlet in Ithaca, NY, in the west hill neighborhood above the Lehman Alternative Community School, operated in the home of Jude and KC Rose. We care for children 24 months to school-age, aging up with an age cohort as much as possible.
At WHE, we offer our families relationship-based care, rooted in a foundation of respect. A sense of order, an environment prepared for the, encouraging the child's active participation in self-care routines and independent, purposeful learning and exploration during open play times. All exhibit the influence of Maria Montessori's and Dr. Emmi Pikler's teachings in addition to Magda Gerber's Educaring® Approach.
